About Us

Robin and Wade met while earning their engineering degrees at New Mexico Tech. After graduation, they moved up to Washington to work for PSNS&IMF. While there, Robin heard about Irene’s School of Dance from friends whose kids were enrolled there.

Robin lived outside Chicago for a short stint of her childhood and, while there, began ballet and tap. Upon moving back to New Mexico, Robin began participating in different sports since the town she moved to did not offer dance. As an adult, Robin reflects fondly on all her childhood physical activities and the lessons it taught her.

Wade and Robin believe that dance, along with other physical activities, are important for the overall mental, emotional, and physical health of both kids and adults. After learning more about Irene’s School of Dance, Robin knew her personal beliefs aligned with the studios mission. The studio was a safe space for the youth of Kitsap to make friends, gain confidence in their bodies, get healthy exercise, and stay out of trouble, all while learning the art of dance. When Robin heard that Irene was retiring, she was internally driven to do whatever she and her fiancé, Wade, could do to give back to the community and keep the studio open.

This studio truly is a family. The passion and friendship within the walls is inspiring and simply unique. Wade and Robin are honored to continue Irene’s legacy and the tradition of “dancing for the joy of it!”
